The Business Case for Hosted Exchange
Email is the mission-critical communications and collaboration tool that allows employees to work smarter and more efficiently. The reliance on email has caused the technology to adapt and evolve, changing the speed of business itself. Brought about by these changes, employee expectations have grown. Today, they look for rich, efficient access to email, calendars, contacts, documents and more - no matter where they are or what type of device they are using. Email is now the core of any business's IT strategy.
For a business looking at delivering a system to address these expectations and requirements, the needs must be weighed up against other factors such as security and cost. In today’s internet driven world, any platform must contend with security threats, from a simple phishing spam email through to the most advanced virus. So what are the major benefits of outsourcing this business critical platform?... Read on Paul Griffiths, Product Manager
Software as a Service?...Software as a Service is a term that has been in circulation for some time now (since around 2000), at its simplest, a delivery method providing access to software for end users. The software is written specifically to be delivered over the web and is paid for based on usage (normally a monthly subscription) rather than having to buy it outright.SaaS provides a multitude of benefits to businesses who adopt this approach to implementing their, often mission critical, business applications. The obvious benefit upfront is the lack of capital expenditure both in terms of software and hardware infrastructure, avoiding a hit to cash flow whilst gaining definite tax advantages by making your software provision an operating cost.Continued James Cook, CEO I Can Play It
Our client believed with a passion in the need for a better, more interactive, e-learning music product for schools. Something of high-quality to complement the National Curriculum; which could get some of the UK's leading music teachers from the worlds of guitar, clarinet and piano directly into every school music room or home.
As we developed a close working relationship with the entrepreneurs behind the vision, we realised the enormity of the challenge which would require previously unheard of levels of technical integration, and all of which would need to meet online accessibility standards.. We built a proprietary, patent-protected, delivery platform and integrated every video-lesson with on-screen graphics to demonstrate not only the music score, but also the fingering for keys, strings or valves as the playing takes place. The solution drew plaudits from the likes of Research Machines and RealPlayer, who appreciated the groundbreaking nature of what we had achieved for the client. The 'I Can Play It' idea has now been recognised with an Alliance For Innovation Award.
